Response 1.1: Please provide a description of your project/event. *
Gallery One, recently highlighted in WorldAtlas’ article, “6 Washington Towns That Rival Europe’s Best” (March 2025), requests
funds to expand and strengthen our annual marketing initiative, designed to bring new visitors to Ellensburg and deepen the
cultural vitality of Kittitas County.
As the region’s premier arts center since 1968, Gallery One hosts a dynamic calendar of exhibitions, community events,
educational classes, and festivals that draw cultural tourists, arts enthusiasts, and day-trippers alike. Our programming spans
visual arts, performance, and hands-on engagement — from open studios and workshops to nationally recognized exhibitions —
offering visitors unique, immersive experiences that can’t be replicated elsewhere.
Funding will allow us to uplevel our outreach in four key ways:
-Artist and Performer Fees: Ensuring high-quality, distinctive programming that elevates Ellensburg as an arts destination.
-Targeted Advertising: Expanding digital, print, and radio campaigns to reach new audiences in Seattle, Yakima, the Tri-Cities,
and beyond. Maintaining freeway presence with our WSDOT sign will augment other efforts and serve as a reminder of our
cultural and artistic value - and it’s worth staying the night.
- Conference & Booth Representation: Positioning Gallery One — and by extension, Ellensburg — at regional tourism and
cultural industry events.
- Collaborative Marketing: Partnering with local artists, businesses, and cultural organizations to amplify our reach and highlight
Ellensburg’s unique identity.
This effort directly aligns with the Committee’s priorities by:
- Driving off-season tourism: Through consistent year-round programming and campaigns designed to attract visitors during
slower months.
- Showcasing uniqueness: Offering original exhibits, artist residencies, and immersive classes that set Ellensburg apart from
neighboring communities.
- Building community prosperity: Strengthening partnerships with local businesses, drawing foot traffic downtown, and creating
economic ripple effects.
- Expanding beyond a 50-mile radius: Marketing specifically to urban centers and rural neighbors, positioning Ellensburg as a
vibrant, arts-rich destination.
With support, Gallery One will not only increase visitor numbers but also foster long-term community vitality, ensuring Ellensburg
continues to thrive as a cultural hub well into 2026 and beyond.
2500 character limit
Response 1.2: Please provide us link to a brief video summary of you organization's event/project. *
Note: You MUST be present at the Q&A meeting to qualify for funding.
https://youtu.be/127QlAvPHco
Response 1.3: List of Intended Use of Funds *
Note: This language will be related in the contract if awarded.
The CLTAC cannot approve funds not listed under RCW 67.28.1816. However, the committee has the right to be more restrictive.
Marketing with other cultural organizations.
Talent and Art delivery fees for artists/performers
Online, print, and radio advertising
Conference/booth event representation (including travel and conference fees)
Rental and upkeep of WSDOT sign on I-90 that advertises our Gallery
2| Supporting Kittitas County as a tourism destination.
1.
