Response 8.3: What changes will be made if funding for your request is not available or recommended?*
Matching Funds Percentage
9| Project Budget Overview
Please complete budget for this project/proposal. If your agency operates independently of this project application it may not be necessary
to submit the entire agency budget. You must submit a budget which specifically pertains to the project/event for which you are
requesting funding and adheres to the basic budget format shown below.
The budget must include anticipated revenues, expenditures, and any potential profit or loss. For projects/events which are ongoing for
more than one (1) year, please also submit actuals from the previous three (3) years of operations (need not be consecutive) for the
project/proposal if applicable.
For any claimed in-kind contributions valued at $500 or more and related to marketing/advertising, you must submit verifying
documentation which assures the contribution will be provided. For instance, if you are claiming in-kind contributions in the form of
advertising match, a binding contract itemizing the matching value and obligating each party must be provided.
ATTENTION: In an effort to allow an adequate level of flexibility for all applicants, not all fields in the budget portion are required to be filled
before this form is submitted. In 2023, our Board of Directors increased the Museum’s
advertising budget from $2,500 to $5,000 and has continued to dedicate this amount annually, including for 2026.
Other grants we have secured or are pursuing are restricted to capital improvement projects, such as ongoing renovations to
ensure climate control, preservation standards, and collections care. These funds cannot be used for advertising or marketing.
We are also seeking support for the 2026 Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau, which, if awarded, will cover speaker fees
for our annual evening lecture series but will not cover marketing or other event expenses.
If this Lodging Tax request is not funded, we would scale back our marketing campaign and adjust our plans to fit the reduced
budget. This would likely limit our reach to key tourism markets and result in fewer visitors discovering the Museum and other
local businesses.
The Museum is also projecting an operating deficit of approximately $40,000 in 2026. The Kittitas County Historical Society
Foundation is expected to help offset this deficit by supporting operations, programs, and capital improvements. However, it is
uncertain whether this support could extend to advertising, as their priority is to stabilize core operations and fund renovation
needs.
While the Museum has proven its ability to responsibly manage resources and sustain operations, advertising funds are critical
for growth. Without them, we will continue our work, but at a reduced scale, limiting our ability to attract visitors, boost tourism
revenue, and fully showcase the unique history, heritage, and culture of Kittitas County.
2500 character limit.
833.25
This field will auto fill with the correct percentage based on your input to budget section below.
2023 2024 2025 2026
LTAC Grant Funding 15,000.00$15,000.00$17,200.00$32,000.00$
Other Revenues
KCHS Advertising Fund 5000.00$5000.00$5000.00$5000.00$
