Response 5: Please explain what plans exist to allow this project to become self-sustaining. Include any plans for ticket sales,
event sponsors, and other cost-recovery models.*
The RDA is committed to supporting events and activities in and around Roslyn through marketing, advertising, community
outreach, engagement, talent fees, and more—all while maintaining reasonable costs. Our goal is to enhance our existing
events, programs, and community/city projects by broadening their appeal and increasing attendance from visitors outside the
area. Ultimately, this contributes to the financial success of Roslyn’s local businesses.
The RDA actively seeks minimum sponsorships, applies for grants such as CLTAC, and benefits from B&O tax credits available
to Main Street communities. Now and into the future, we aim to foster greater engagement and attract diverse funding
resources, driving economic stimulation in Roslyn and County.
Through collaboration and strategic foresight, we are committed to ensuring that Roslyn and Kittitas County remain vibrant and
welcoming destinations.
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 4
6| Additional Information
Response 6.1: Provide any additional information which will assist the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee in evaluating your
project and its benefit to tourism.
In 2025, the RDA continues to bring innovative ideas to enrich visitors’ experiences. From our popular annual video series to the
notable achievement of the Yakama Nation’s Creator Law Sculpture as a top tourist destination, we are making a significant
impact.
The revitalization of the gazebo and our support for key community capital improvements, including projects like the Coal Mine
Trail, demonstrate our ongoing commitment. This year, we contracted and designed two custom picnic tables, nine custom bike
racks, and two cornhole sets, a $32,000 capital investment that further enriches the tourism experience in our town. Additionally,
our third video series about the Yakama Nation’s Creator’s Law has been a great success, and our fourth video series, set to be
released in early November, highlights the historic Number 9 Mine site—shedding light on Roslyn’s rich mining history and its
transformation into today’s Swiftwater Cellars Winery.
The RDA is dedicated to enhancing Roslyn’s historic appeal, which helps expand our marketing efforts in driving tourism to
Roslyn and throughout Kittitas County.
2500 character limit
Response 6.2: You may upload any supporting documents such as graphs, images, diagrams, marketing materials, etc.
You are allowed to submit up to 3 single page (US Letter) documents in JPG, PDF or TIFF format
Newsletter_1_2025 year in review 2024_ RDA (1).pdf 852.04KB
Support Roslyn's Businesses .jpg 574.46KB
Old Town Christmas.jpg 384.4KB
7| Previous Lodging Tax Grant Information
Response 7.1: Has your event received Lodging Tax funds in previous years?*
No, this event/project has not previously received Lodging Tax Funding
Yes, 1 year previous
Yes, 2 years previous
Yes, 3 years previous
Yes, 4 or more years previous
Response 7.2: Overall Attendance *
Past Actual *Projected *
9,100 12,000
Response 7.3: Number of people travelling more than 50 miles for your event?*
Past Actual *Projected *
