Tourism Seasons *
Amount of Funding Requested *
Funding Request Max
1| Project/Event Description
Response 1.1: Please provide a description of your project/event.*
Response 1.2: Please provide us link to a brief video summary of you organization's event/project.*
From the list below, what season will your project enhance tourism? Select any which apply.
Year-round (January - December)
Off Season (November - February)
Shoulder Season (October or March - May)
High Season (June - September)
If you selected "Ongoing Project/Event" above, this amount may not exceed 10% of the total expense budget of this project.
114414.61$
321,720.24
Please answer each of the following questions completely, in the order listed. Please include any supporting data within the response
narrative.
Application Questions: Part 1
We run a total of 18 tournaments in the city of Ellensburg. 6 basketball during the fall and winter, 1 basketball during the
summer, 10 baseball during the spring and summer and 1 soccer tournament during the summer. These events typically attract
50+ teams with over 50% of families coming from outside of a 50 mile radius. A typical basketball team consists of 10 families
and 12 for a baseball team. Events are typically held Saturday & Sunday with occasional games being played on Fridays.
2500 character limit
Note: You MUST be present at the Q&A meeting to qualify for funding.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mtFr5n26yiOdjsUiX17B7rAtGngmWJLG/view
Response 1.3: List of Intended Use of Funds *
Note: This language will be related in the contract if awarded.
The CLTAC cannot approve funds not listed under RCW 67.28.1816. However, the committee has the right to be more restrictive.
Lodging for talent - hotels, camp sites, air BnBs to house officials required hosting tournaments
Marketing and Advertising - for recruiting umpires, attracting out of town teams
Facility Rentals for Events - school gyms, the SURC, College, city and High school baseball fields
2| Supporting Kittitas County as a tourism destination.
1. Away from their place of residence or business and staying overnight in paid accommodations;
2. To a place fifty miles or more away from their place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight;
3. Or from another country or state outside of their place of residence or business.
You must provide the evidence utilized in determining your projections.
Response 2.1: Why would tourists travel to Kittitas County to attend your event/activity/facility?*
Tourists would travel to our event to participate in a quality baseball event in a central location attracting teams from both sides
of the state. We use our extensive network along with advertising and promotions to draw teams to the Kittitas Valley. The
feedback on the quality of Rotary Park along with how much families enjoy the town of Ellensburg seems to be a driving force for
successful events. As for basketball events, we mainly utilize the SURC and families love the location and being on the college
campus.
2500 character limit
