Medical Fees (medical professional on-site)
Speaker and Talent Fees
2| Supporting Kittitas County as a tourism destination.
1. Away from their place of residence or business and staying overnight in paid accommodations;
2. To a place fifty miles or more away from their place of residence or business for the day or staying overnight;
3. Or from another country or state outside of their place of residence or business.
You must provide the evidence utilized in determining your projections.
Response 2.1: Why would tourists travel to Kittitas County to attend your event/activity/facility?*
Cle Elum is increasingly recognized as a desirable destination, with a vibrant downtown, historic charm, and diverse attractions.
Strategically located as “Halfway to Everywhere”, it offers easy access to SeaTac and Yakima airports, outdoor recreation, and
year-round events, making it ideal for day trips or overnight stays.
Visitors attend our events from outside their residence or business, traveling 50+ miles for day trips or overnight stays, or
coming from other states and countries. Placer Labs geofencing data (filtered for visitors present 10+ minutes) show that during
signature events like Pioneer Days and Christmas in Cle Elum, over 35% of attendees traveled 50+ miles, with visitors from all
50 states. Physical attendance estimates, zip code tracking, website analytics, and social media engagement confirm these
trends. For example, Pioneer Days 2024 drew 4,535 attendees, with 1.9K new website users, and event engagement reached
11.8K from July 1–8. Branded water cans distributed statewide over the last 3 years further expanded outreach.
Cle Elum has welcomed 20+ new businesses over the past five years, enhancing shopping, dining, and entertainment options.
Our sidewalk improvement project, completing in June 2025, creates more walkable, attractive streets, while management of the
Cle Elum Visitor Center provides real-time information and supports tourism throughout the downtown core.
Signature events, including Pioneer Days, Boo-Elum, and Christmas in Cle Elum, now feature fireworks displays, unique
attractions, and family-focused programming, drawing visitors from across the state and country. Feedback from shoppers,
business owners, and social media demonstrates that tourists are attracted to Cle Elum for its historic character, curated events,
recreational access, and vibrant downtown experiences.
Through these efforts, Cle Elum actively supports tourism in Kittitas County, attracting overnight and day-trip visitors, driving
economic activity, and strengthening the region’s reputation as a year-round travel destination.
2500 character limit
