KITTITAS COUNTY SOLID WASTE ON-CALL <br />CLE ELUM TRANSFER STATION TANK REPLACEMENT <br /> SEPTEMBER 2025 Wastewater Tanks <br /> 333413 - 2 <br /> <br />2.03 ACCESSORIES <br />A. 20 inch inside diameter manway <br />B. 2 pumper ports <br />C. Inlet pipe. <br />D. Manhole cover and framing: frame, skirt, and cover shall be constructed of steel or cast iron <br />with a water tight fit. Cover and frame shall be 36 inch diameter or larger to allow access to the <br />manway cover. H-20 vehicle load rated. <br />E. Riser sump and lid: 42 inch diameter fiberglass riser sump and removable lid. The assembly <br />shall form a water proof barrier to any ground or surface water. <br />F. Pumper port cover and framing: Leak proof, 18 inch diameter, with steel skirt and steel or cast <br />iron cover. H-20 vehicle load rated. <br />G. Vent piping: ASTM D1785, Schedule 80, Poly(Vinyl Chloride) (PVC), bell and spigot style <br />solvent sealed joint end. <br />H. Alarm system: re-use existing underground storage tank alarm system. Provide new conduit to <br />match existing removed for excavation. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br />A. Verify that sanitary sewer connection, size, location and invert are as indicated. <br />3.02 EXCAVATING AND TRENCHING <br />A. See Section 312316 and Section 312316.13 for general requirements. <br />B. Hand trim excavation for accurate placement of tank and pipe to elevations indicated. <br />3.03 TANK INSTALLATION <br />A. Install in accordance with applicable local codes and manufacturers instructions. <br />B. Install frame and cover above holding tank with concrete thrust collar to absorb H-20 vehicle <br />loads. Isolate ring and cover from tank so vehicle wheel loads do not damage the tank. <br />C. Install deadman anchors per manufacturers instruction. <br />3.04 CONNECTING PIPE AND CONDUIT INSTALLATION <br />A. Install pipe, fittings, and accessories in accordance with ASTM D2321 and per manufacturer’s <br />instructions. <br />B. Slope sanitary sewer inlet piping minimum of 1/4 inch per foot (19 mm per m). <br />C. Install detectable marking tape continuous buried 12-inches above pipe and conduit. <br />3.05 TESTING <br />A. Sanitary sewer piping shall be cleaned and pressure tested per WSDOT standard specification <br />section 7-17. Defects which appear as a result of the testing shall be corrected and the system <br />or section retested. <br />B. Test holding tank per manufacture’s instruction. <br />3.06 PROTECTION <br />A. Protect all materials installed from damage or displacement until backfilling operation is in <br />progress. <br />END OF SECTION
