KITTITAS COUNTY SOLID WASTE ON-CALL <br />CLE ELUM TRANSFER STATION FRONT ENTRANCE DESIGN AND TANK REPLACEMENT <br />SEPTEMBER 2025 Product Requirements <br /> <br /> 016000 - 2 <br />SECTION 016000 <br />PRODUCT REQUIREMENTS <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A. Re-use of existing products. <br />B. Transportation, handling, storage and protection. <br />C. Product option requirements. <br />D. Substitution limitations. <br />E. Maintenance materials, including extra materials, spare parts, tools, and software. <br />1.02 RELATED REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Section 012500 - Substitution Procedures: Substitutions made during procurement and/or <br />construction phases. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 EXISTING PRODUCTS <br />A. Do not use materials and equipment removed from existing premises unless specifically <br />required or permitted by Contract Documents. <br />B. Unforeseen historic items encountered remain the property of the Owner; notify Owner <br />promptly upon discovery; protect, remove, handle, and store as directed by Owner. <br />C. Existing materials and equipment indicated to be removed, but not to be re-used, relocated, <br />reinstalled, delivered to the Owner, or otherwise indicated as to remain the property of the <br />Owner, become the property of the Contractor; remove from site. <br />2.02 NEW PRODUCTS <br />A. Provide new products unless specifically required or permitted by Contract Documents. <br />2.03 PRODUCT OPTIONS <br />A. Products Specified by Reference Standards or by Description Only: Use any product meeting <br />those standards or description. <br />B. Products Specified by Naming One or More Manufacturers with a Provision for <br />Substitutions: Submit a request for substitution for any manufacturer not named. <br />C. Products Specified as Basis-of-Design: Submit substitution requests for unnamed products to <br />Engineer for evaluation. <br />2.04 MAINTENANCE MATERIALS <br />A. Furnish extra materials, spare parts, tools, and software of types and in quantities specified in <br />individual specification sections. <br />B. Deliver to Project site; obtain receipt prior to final payment. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 SUBSTITUTION LIMITATIONS <br />A. See Section 012500 - Substitution Procedures. <br />3.02 TRANSPORTATION AND HANDLING <br />A. Package products for shipment in manner to prevent damage; for equipment, package to avoid <br />loss of factory calibration. <br />B. If special precautions are required, attach instructions prominently and legibly on outside of <br />packaging. <br />C. Coordinate schedule of product delivery to designated prepared areas in order to minimize site <br />storage time and potential damage to stored materials.
