WSDOT's List of State Occupations not applicable to Heavy and <br />Highway Construction Projects <br />This project is subject to the state hourly minimum rates for wages and fringe benefits in <br />the contract provisions, as provided by the state Department of Labor and Industries. <br />The following list of occupations, is comprised of those occupations that are not normally <br />used in the construction of heavy and highway projects. <br />When considering job classifications for use and / or payment when bidding on, or building <br />heavy and highway construction projects for, or administered by WSDOT, these <br />Occupations will be excepted from the included "Washington State Prevailing Wage Rates <br />For Public Work Contracts" documents. <br />• Building Service Employees <br />• Electrical Fixture Maintenance Workers <br />• Electricians - Motor Shop <br />• Heating Equipment Mechanics <br />• Industrial Engine and Machine Mechanics <br />• Industrial Power Vacuum Cleaners <br />• Inspection, Cleaning, Sealing of Water Systems by Remote Control <br />• Laborers - Underground Sewer & Water <br />• Machinists (Hydroelectric Site Work) <br />• Modular Buildings <br />• Playground & Park Equipment Installers <br />• Power Equipment Operators - Underground Sewer & Water <br />• Residential *** ALL ASSOCIATED RATES *** <br />• Sign Makers and Installers (Non -Electrical) <br />• Sign Makers and Installers (Electrical) <br />• Stage Rigging Mechanics (Non Structural) <br />The following occupations may be used only as outlined in the preceding text concerning <br />"WSDOT's list for Suppliers - Manufacturers - Fabricators" <br />• Fabricated Precast Concrete Products <br />• Metal Fabrication (In Shop) <br />Definitions for the Scope of Work for prevailing wages may be found at the Washington <br />State Department of Labor and Industries web site and in WAC Chapter 296-127. <br />Supplemental to Wage Rates 9 <br />8/30/2025 Edition, Published August 13, 2025 <br />
