KITTITAS COUNTY SOLID WASTE ON-CALL <br />CLE ELUM TRANSFER STATION FRONT ENTRANCE DESIGN <br />PW\JA\KITTCO02\ENTRANCE SOIL STABILIZATION <br />JUNE 2023 31 32 00 - 1 <br />©COPYRIGHT 2023 JACOBS <br />SECTION 31 32 00 <br />SOIL STABILIZATION <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 WORK OF THIS SECTION <br />A. This section covers the Work to permanently manage and stabilize the Site. <br />Refer to Section 01 57 13, Erosion and Sediment Control, during construction, <br />for requirements associated with managing stormwater and erosion during <br />construction activities. Permanent soil stabilization measures shall be <br />coordinated with temporary measures which are employed. Contractor shall <br />stage Work in such manner to limit disturbance and finish and stabilize areas <br />as Work is completed. Leaving areas open and vulnerable to erosion and <br />sediment transport is not acceptable. The Work shall include the furnishing of <br />all labor, materials, tools, and equipment to perform such work and services <br />necessary as herein specified and as indicated on Drawings. <br />1.02 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Maintenance Period: Begin maintenance immediately after each area is <br />planted and continue for a period of 8 weeks after planting under this section <br />is completed. <br />B. Permanent Soil Stabilization: Finished surfacing to be placed on permanent <br />and cut and fill slopes for roadway embankments as shown on Drawings, on <br />stockpile areas for surplus material stockpiles, and on Contractor disturbed <br />areas requiring soil erosion stabilization. Permanent soil stabilization consists <br />of surface preparation, placement hydroseed with seed. <br />C. Satisfactory Stand: <br />1. Grass or section of grass of 10,000 square feet or larger that has: <br />a. No bare spots larger than 3 square feet. <br />b. Not more than 10 percent of total area with bare spots larger than <br />1 square foot. <br />c. Not more than 15 percent of total area with bare spots larger than <br />6 square inches. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Action Submittals: Product data for commercial products.
