Gradation Tests: As necessary to locate acceptable sources of onsite or <br />imported material. <br />B. Final approval of aggregate material will be based on test results of installed <br />materials. <br />2.02 EARTHFILL <br />A. Excavated material from required excavations, free from rocks larger than <br />3 inches, from roots and other organic matter, ashes, cinders, trash, debris, and <br />other deleterious materials. <br />B. If shown beneath structures or pavements, shall have maximum 15 percent by <br />weight passing No. 200 sieve. <br />C. Provide imported material of equivalent quality, if required to accomplish <br />Work. <br />2.03 BACKFILL AROUND BURIED STRUCTURES <br />A. As specified for Base Course. <br />2.04 BASE COURSE <br />A. As specified in Section 32 11 23, Aggregate Base Courses. <br />2.05 TOP COURSE <br />A. As specified in Section 32 11 23, Aggregate Base Courses. <br />2.06 COMPACTION EQUIPMENT <br />A. Compaction equipment shall be of suitable type and adequate to obtain the <br />specified relative compaction, and shall provide satisfactory breakdown of <br />materials to form a dense and unyielding fill. <br />B. Compaction equipment shall be operated in strict accordance with the <br />manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations. Equipment shall be <br />maintained in such condition that it will deliver the manufacturer’s rated <br />compactive effort. If inadequate relative densities are obtained, larger and/or <br />different types of additional equipment shall be provided by the Contractor at
