Clearing: Removal of interfering or objectionable material lying on or <br />protruding above ground surface. <br />B. Grubbing: Removal of vegetation and other organic matter including stumps, <br />buried logs, and roots greater than 2 inch caliper to a depth of 6 inches below <br />subgrade. <br />C. Interfering or Objectionable Material: Trash, rubbish, and junk; vegetation <br />and other organic matter, whether alive, dead, or decaying; topsoil. <br />D. Project Limits: Areas, as shown or specified, within which Work is to be <br />performed. <br />E. Stripping: Removal of topsoil remaining after applicable scalping is <br />completed. <br />1.02 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Action Submittals: Drawings clearly showing clearing, grubbing, and <br />stripping limits. <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Obtain Engineer’s approval of staked clearing, grubbing, and stripping limits, <br />prior to commencing clearing, grubbing, and stripping. <br />1.04 SCHEDULING AND SEQUENCING <br />A. Prepare Site only after adequate erosion and sediment controls are in place. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS (NOT USED) <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL <br />A. Clear, grub, and strip areas actually needed for waste disposal, borrow, or Site <br />improvements within limits shown or specified.
