KITTITAS COUNTY <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 10, 2026 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request Boards approval for Directors signature on <br />purchase order for a Compost. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Solid Waste has a 2009 compost turners that has <br />reached its end of life. <br />We have reached out to several manufacturers requesting quotes for a similar sized turner <br />that would be compatible with our existing tractor. In response we received two quotes <br />for towable turners and one for a self-propelled turner. <br />After reviewing the quotes we received it was determined that Midwest Bio-systems <br />turner would meet the facilities needs. <br />INTERACTION: Solid Waste Director. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Boards approval for Directors signature on a purchase order <br />for a Compost Turner. <br />HANDLING: <br />ATTACHMENTS: Purchase Order and Quote on a Compost Turner for the Kittitas <br />County Solid Waste Compost Facility. <br />LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey, Facilities and Waste Operations Director. <br />
