1J <br />Public Health <br />Environmental Healt <br />Solid Waste Program: <br />March 2026 <br />Department Updates <br />o Collaborated with EH Coordinator to generate additional SW educational social media posts. <br />o Worked closely with the Solid Waste Department to complete inspections for the new transfer <br />station. <br />Training & Professional Development: <br />o Four EH team members will attend a free Sanitary Survey Training for public water systems in May, <br />hosted locally at CWU. <br />• Emergency Response & Infrastructure: <br />o Participated with the Emergency Response Team in a post -flood damage assessment of water <br />infrastructure. <br />• Professional Leadership: <br />o Dan Suggs appointed as East Side Representative for the Washington On -Site Sewage Association <br />(WOSSA), influencing OSS management statewide. <br />• Internal Operations & Improvements: <br />o EH has been using a quieter quarter to conduct internal housekeeping and process improvements. <br />o Food Safety team is enhancing forms and web resources for easier navigation. <br />o Standardization efforts underway to improve consistency across EH processes. <br />o Quarterly meetings with CDS continue to maintain open communication and align processes with <br />the Building Department. <br />ublic Heat <br />There has been a lot going on in the PHI division. We have been focusing on a lot of foundational systems and <br />process work across all PHI positions. <br />Emergency Response/Kelly Bacon <br />■ was heavily involved in measles response in January/February. <br />a has been working hard updating our Emergency Operations Plan and the many annexes with a focus on <br />making them operational for all staff. This is a huge undertaking, as each piece is its own project. Our plan <br />hasn't been updated since 2021. <br />• has also continued to recruit new members for our MRC and is setting up regular check -ins to ensure we <br />have a ready -to -go volunteer workforce for any events that may arise. <br />
