Request Description: please describe the work this position will perform. lnctude a iob <br />description and any other pertinent information' <br />This position witl serve as a countywide community outreach, economic devetopment and <br />workforce imptementation rote, focused on business sustainabitity, workforce availability' and tong- <br />term tatent retention across Kittitas County. <br />Primary responsibitities inctude direct engagement with emptoyers to identify worKorce <br />chattenges, skitts gaps, and emerging needs; coordinating with education, workforce' and <br />economic devetopment partners to aiign training and talent pipetine efforts; and supporting the <br />de1ivery of workforce-focused programming for tocal businesses. The position will act as a front- <br />line connector, transtating emptoyer input into actionabte strategies that atign with county-]ed <br />economic development priorities. <br />The role wiI atso coordinate consuttant-supported efforts funded through this request, including <br />strategic communications, smalt Business Devetopment center-atigned workforce programming' <br />and countywide grant writing support. This inctudes ensuring activities remain atigned with <br />approved scopes of work, supporting outreach and participation, and tracking measurable <br />outcgmes retated to emptoyer engagement, workfqrce programming, and partnership <br />devetopment. <br />This position does not dupticate county or municipat functions. lnstead, it strengthens coordination <br />across jurisdictions by providing consistent emptoyer engagement, convening partners' and <br />suppofting imptementation where shared capacity is needed' The work performed witt hetp <br />improve workforce readiness, emptoyer retention strategies, and overatt economic resitience <br />across Kittitas CountY. <br />2. ls this a new position for your organization? tf so, please describe whythis position is <br />needed. lf not, why is it a necessary for this fund to continue to support this position? <br />This is not a new position. The funding supports the continuation and expansion of an existing role <br />that provides countywide economic development and workforce coordination on behatf of the <br />Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce. <br />Continued funding is necessary because workforce avaitabitity, tatent retention, and business <br />sustainabitity remain primary constraints on economic growth in Kittitas County. Emptoyer needs <br />in these areas are ongoing and evotving, particularty in a frontier rurat county with muttipte <br />municipatities and unincorporated areas where coordination and imptementation capacity are <br />timited. This position ensures consistent, on-the-ground engagement with employers and partners' <br />attowing emerging workforce chattenges to be identified earty and addressed cotlaborativety. <br />suppor-t f rom this f und enabl.es the chamber to sustain a dedicated capacity focused on <br />impiementation rather than short-term projects. The position complements county and municipat <br />economic devetopment efforts by engaging the private sector, coordinating across education and <br />workforce systems, and supportingthe detiveryof workforce-focused programmingatigned with <br />county-ted priorities. without continued funding, these coordination and imptementation functions
