KCEDP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RECRUITMENT CHARTER <br /> MISSION <br /> The Kittitas County Economic Development Partnership (KCEDP) Executive Director Recruitment <br /> Subcommittee conducts a fair, efficient, and comprehensive search to identify and recommend the <br /> most qualified candidate who possesses executive leadership, economic development expertise, <br /> and a collaborative spirit necessary to successfully launch and lead the KCEDP in achieving its <br /> regional economic goals. <br /> SCOPE <br /> The KCEDP Executive Director Recruitment Subcommittee is responsible for the following: <br /> • Recruitment Strategy and Planning <br /> o Understand the business needs, strategic objectives, and desired qualities of the <br /> role. <br /> o Review and recommend a finalized job description and candidate profile <br /> (knowledge, skills, abilities, and preferred qualifications)to COG. <br /> o Identify and Approve compensation band. <br /> o Approve recruitment strategies including advertising channels, outreach, budget, <br /> timelines, candidate evaluation tools, etc. <br /> • Application Screening <br /> o Review all applications thoroughly against the approved job description and agreed <br /> upon evaluation tools. <br /> o Identify a shortlist of candidates who meet qualifications and desired <br /> competencies. <br /> • Conduct Interviews <br /> o Develop interview questions, scoring rubrics, and candidate exercises or <br /> presentations. <br /> o Manage the interview process through final presentation of candidate(s)to COG. <br /> • Candidate Assessment and Recommendation <br /> o Discuss candidate strengths, concerns, and overall suitability for the role. <br /> o Select and forward a minimum of one and a maximum of three highly qualified, <br /> agreed upon finalists to the full Conference of Governments (COG). <br /> o Provide executive summaries of the Subcommittee's rationale for the <br /> recommended candidates. <br /> • Confidentiality, Compliance, and Communication <br /> o Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all candidate information, deliberations, <br /> and recruitment records including scoring, screening, and interview materials <br /> throughout the process. <br /> o Ensure the recruitment process is fair, consistent, and compliant with applicable <br /> federal and state employment laws. <br /> o Report progress and milestones to COG and/or the Board of County Commissioners <br /> as requested. <br />
