Used Oil Recycling Policy <br />The used oil recycling program is funded in part by a Dept. of Ecology grant. Grant rules <br />specify that funds are not allowed to be spent on waste generated by a business. As such, <br />used oil can only be accepted from residents of Kittitas County. Businesses are NOT <br />ALLOWED to use the used oil tanks. Businesses can contact the main office at 509-962- <br />7542 for proper disposal options. There is a daily Limit of 20 gallons per household. The <br />maximum container size allowed to pour out is 5 gallons. Customers are NOT ALLOWED to <br />dump oil from containers Larger than 5 gallons. DUMPING OIL FROM 55 GALLON DRUMS <br />IS NOT ALLOWED. <br />Acceptable Fluids <br />Used Motor Oil <br />Synthetic Oils and Lubricants <br />Gear Oil <br />Lube Oil <br />Power Steering Fluid <br />Transmission Fluid <br />Hydraulic Fluid <br />Unacceptable Fluids <br />Antifreeze <br />Brake Fluid <br />Solvents and Thinners <br />Fuels <br />Transformer Oil <br />Vegetable Oils and Animal Fats <br />The above Lists are not intended to be all inclusive. If unsure of the fluid or if the fluid is on <br />the unacceptable List, contact the HHW Coordinator at 509-962-7577 to set up an <br />appointment for disposal. <br />
