02/09/2026 MINUTES 2
SPECIAL EVENT YAKIMA RIVER CANYON MARATHON COMMISSIONERS

Commissioner Osiadacz moved to Approve a Special Event Application
to hold the annual Yakima River Canyon Marathon and Half Marathon,
on Saturday March 28, 2026, and to grant a waiver to Kittitas County
Code Chapter 5.20.160 – Closing Hours, and Penal Bond, conditioned
upon recommendations from Public Works, Sheriff’s Office, Public
Health and the Fire Marshal. Chairman Wright seconded. Motion
carried 2-0.

APPOINTMENT VETERANS ADVISORY BOARD – BARRY COMMISSIONERS

Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve the appointment of Ed Barry
to the Kittitas County Veterans Advisory Board for a 2-year term,
effective immediately and to expire 12/31/2027. Chairman Wright
seconded. Motion carried 2-0.

PROPOSAL HARRIS OFFICE – COMMISSIONERS RELOCATION COMMISSIONERS

Mandy Buchholz, Office Administrator, presented a proposal from
Harris Office Interiors in the amount of $16,697.00, not including
taxes. She stated that, upon the Chair’s signature approving the
proposal, the order could be placed and the office move scheduled.

Commissioner Osiadacz and Chairman Wright discussed that the
District #3 Commissioner had requested no updated furniture, as he
uses personal furniture. However, the Board expressed a desire to
maintain a unified and professional appearance in the offices moving
forward. Concerns were also discussed regarding the availability of
selected furniture items in the future, particularly when the office
may be vacant and a new Commissioner takes office.

Staff was directed to request that Harris amend the proposal to
include furniture for the District #3 office. The intent is for the
furniture to be temporarily “borrowed” by Misdemeanant Probation
until a future election results in a new Commissioner. At that time,
the Board of County Commissioners will reassign the furniture back
to the District #3 office, and Misdemeanant Probation will be
responsible for obtaining replacement office furniture. This
arrangement reflects that Misdemeanant Probation will be relocating
to the current BoCC office space.

Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve and authorize the Chair’s
signature on an amended furniture proposal from Harris Office
Interiors in the amount of $20,020.00, not including taxes, to
include furniture for the District #3 office. Chairman Wright
seconded the motion. Motion carried 2–0.

UPDATE WHITE BOARD COMMISSIONERS
