02/02/2026 MINUTES 2 <br />The Board approved the request as presented. <br /> <br />UPDATE COG ED DIRECTOR COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director, provided a brief update and <br />distributed a handout outlining the Executive Director Recruitment <br />Subcommittee’s timeline and plan. <br /> <br />He shared that the Conference of Governments (COG) has significantly <br />evolved and now has a much broader scope of work. This expanded role <br />allows the COG to take on larger, more impactful projects rather <br />than focusing solely on requesting funds for individual towns or <br />cities. <br /> <br />Director Fredrickson stated he is encouraged by the scope of <br />responsibilities being developed for the Executive Director <br />position. He believes the role will require a strong skill set and <br />the ability to effectively leverage opportunities to support and <br />grow the County’s economic development efforts. <br /> <br />LETTER DNR/WSDOT COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Vice-Chairman Wachsmith moved to approve and authorize Board <br />signature on a letter to DNR & WSDOT regarding Multi-Use Road Safety <br />Account Proviso projects, as presented. Commissioner Osiadacz <br />seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />LETTER WDFW/WSDOT COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Vice-Chairman Wachsmith moved to approve and authorize Board <br />signature on a letter to WDFW & WSDOT Regarding Multi-Use Road <br />Safety Account Proviso projects, as presented. Commissioner Osiadacz <br />seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 9:37 a.m. Chairman Wright announced the Board would recess into <br />an Executive Session for 25 minutes, with Therese Murphy, Deputy <br />Prosecutor III and Miko Tempski, Deputy Prosecutor III, under RCW <br />42.30.110 (g), to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for <br />public employment or to review the performance of a public employee. <br />However, subject to RCW 42.30.140(4), discussion by a governing body <br />of salaries, wages, and other conditions of employment to be <br />generally applied within the agency shall occur in a meeting open to <br />the public, and when a governing body elects to take final action <br />hiring, setting the salary of an individual employee or class of <br />employees, or discharging or disciplining an employee, that action <br />shall be taken in a meeting open to the public. No action <br />anticipated. <br />
