<br />Page 1 | 4 <br /> <br />Kittitas County, Washington <br />Job Description <br /> <br />POSITION TITLE: APPLICATION DEVELOPER I – III ☐ REVIEWED / ☒ MODIFIED: 6/23/2025 <br />REPORTS TO: ASSISTANT IT DIRECTOR <br />DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) <br />JOB SUMMARY: The Application Developer I, II, and III are responsible for developing and <br />maintaining the County’s application portfolio and databases, including the <br />Laserfiche records management system, public website, intranet site, <br />selected third-party applications, and console applications. Must maintain <br />courteous and cooperative working relationships with administrative and <br />other County personnel, public agencies, and the general public, and work <br />under the guidance of Local/State/Federal regulations and County <br />policies/procedures. <br />SUPERVISORY DUTIES: The Application Developer III may act as a lead for other division staff, at the <br />direction of the Assistant IT Director. <br />CATEGORY: Full-Time OCCUPATION CODE: 2365 <br />UNION AFFILIATION: None HOURS/WEEK: 40 <br />FLSA STATUS: <br />BACKGROUND CHECK LEVEL: <br />Exempt <br />High <br />DRS ELIGIBILITY: <br />PROBATIONARY PERIOD: <br />PERS <br />12 Months <br /> <br />ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: <br />• Create workflows, forms, and reports in an enterprise records management and business process <br />software, Laserfiche. <br />• Develop, implement, and maintain the county’s Internet and intranet sites. <br />• Program using ASP.Net, ASP.CORE, C#, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL databases; review code <br />with team. <br />• Work with Department Heads, Elected Officials, and their designees to develop applications that <br />improve efficiencies, accuracy of data, and help them meet their legal requirements. <br />• Administer and configure various enterprise third party applications. <br />• Support the County’s Internet site by developing features, modules and controls to present data to the <br />public that cannot be published by content authors directly. <br />• Ensure the operation and security of all web environments, internally built applications and database <br />solutions; audit and maintain security consistent with the county policies. <br />• Document all aspects of the position’s essential functions. <br />• Improve knowledge as necessary. <br />• Document all work performed and communication with employees on projects and problems. <br />• Work with team to develop applications and integrations to meet user requirements. <br />• Create and maintain technical documentation of processes and custom applications as well as user <br />guides for County staff. <br />• Research third party applications for County department use; review coding and design technologies for <br />potential use. <br />• Cross-train and support other Business Applications Services Division staff. <br />• Work with the Infrastructure Division staff on joint projects. <br />
