Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce <br /> Economic Development-Year in Review <br /> BOCC <br /> 1.Overview <br /> Over the past year, the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce has focused on economic <br /> development through business retention,workforce collaboration,community <br /> promotion,and regional coordination. Our role has been to support existing employers, <br /> assist new and expanding businesses, and serve as a connector between the private sector <br /> and public partners across Kittitas County. <br /> 2. Business Retention&Expansion(BRE) <br /> Goal:Support existing businesses and reduce barriers to growth. <br /> Activities&Metrics: <br /> • Conducted 451 direct business touchpoints through site visits, meetings, and <br /> outreach across Ellensburg, Cle Elum, Upper County, and rural areas. <br /> • Assisted 131 businesses with referrals to: <br /> o Workforce and training resources <br /> o Financing and grant opportunities <br /> o Local permitting,zoning, and regulatory contacts <br /> • Supported 22 business expansions or relocations by coordinating with cities,the <br /> county, and utility providers. <br /> • Responded to 10 business inquiries related to starting or expanding operations in <br /> Kittitas County. <br /> Impact: <br /> Improved communication between businesses and jurisdictions, early identification of <br /> challenges, and faster connections to solutions. <br />
