01/26/2026 MINUTES 3 governing body elects to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an individual employee or class of employees, or discharging or disciplining an employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting open to the public. No action anticipated. At 9:51 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No action taken. At 9:51 a.m. Chairman Wright announced the Board would recess back into an Executive Session for 5 minutes, with Stephanie Hartung, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecutor, under RCW 42.30.110 (g), to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of a public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140(4), discussion by a governing body of salaries, wages, and other conditions of employment to be generally applied within the agency shall occur in a meeting open to the public, and when a governing body elects to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an individual employee or class of employees, or discharging or disciplining an employee, that action shall be taken in a meeting open to the public. No action anticipated. At 9:56 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. Direction to Staff to place the letter addressed to Commissioner Cory Wright on the Commissioner's Office Correspondence Log for next week regarding an employee performance concern. UPDATE WHITE BOARD COMMISSIONERS The Board reviewed their current whiteboard topics and provided status updates. DISCUSSION COUNTY FACEBOOK COMMISSIONERS The Board determined that for the week of January 26, 2026, they would post the following on their Facebook page: Kittitas County Community Development Flyer regarding the Comprehensive Periodic Update and their Newsletter. UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to meet with on a weekly basis for the year. The assignments for 2026 were determined during a Board of County Commissioners Office Admin meeting and they will continue to provide updates at future meetings. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings.
