Project Construction <br />Task Cost:, $9,900,000-00 <br />A. The RECIPIENT will submit hid -ready, Washington State -licensed engineer signed and sealed plans and <br />specifications. A construction schedule will be produced and submitted in addition to safety and and spill containment <br />plans,. <br />B. The RECIPIENT will complete the following work: mobilization, site preparation, demobilization!, site clean-up', <br />and demolition and construction of elements as described in the final plans and specifications. <br />1. The RECIPIENT will hi*r <br />e one or more licensed professional contractor(s) to excavate and remove the existing levee <br />ana two perms, remove an existing defunct irrigation neactgate structure,, and recontour the Tl000plain elevations to <br />.0 <br />facilitate connection at i.:)-year flood events and increase complexity oi side channel habitat. The RECIPIENT will <br />enteri'onto a contract with the selected contractor(s) in accordance with the RECIPIENT or State of Washington <br />procurement procedures and prepare a contract in accordance with the scope of work in this agreement. <br />2. The RECIPIENT will submit a copy of the construction schedule. <br />3. The RECIPIEN"I'will submit a copy of the as -built plan set, stamped by a Washington State -licensed engineer. <br />C. The RECIPIENT will submit an annotated summary report and annotated before.. during, and after digital photos of <br />the construction. <br />D. The RECIPIENT will submit GIS-co padble data for the project footprint area(s) in an ECOLOGY approved <br />format. <br />Task Goal Statement: <br />The quantity and quality of salmonid habitat will be improved, with an emphasis on year-round rearing habitat and <br />consideration of non -normative summer high -flow hydrology. The floodplain will be well-connected, and frequently <br />activated. Flood risk to private property will be reduced. A construction project will be delivered that generates the <br />necessary flood protection features. <br />Task Expected Outcome: <br />Habitat will be restored by promoting natural fluvial processes to create and maintain spatial complexity and <br />dynamicity through the removal of bank revetments, reconnection of side -channel habitats, placement of large wood to <br />increase side channel complexity, and floodplain recontouring to promote floodplai*n engagement,, Klottitas County will <br />divest from ineffective flood infrastructure, and private property will be protected by more sustainable structures that <br />are set back from the river and channel migration zone.
