KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> Courthouse RM 201 , ELLENSBURG <br /> Public Hearing <br /> TUESDAY 6: 00 PM August 12 , 2025 <br /> Board members present: Bruce Coe, Joseph Pearson, Pat Deneen, <br /> and Bill Hinkle by telephone . <br /> Not present : Scott Carlson, Warren Taylor and Judith Jackson <br /> Others : Jamey Ayling, Jeremy Johnston, Josh Fredrickson, Jessica <br /> Miller and no (0) members of the public . <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6: 00 P.M. <br /> CALL TO ORDER - Roll Call <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS (1 min. time limit) <br /> There were no citizen comments . <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> COMMISSIONER PEARSON moved to approve the minutes from the July <br /> 8, 2025 meeting as presented. COMMISSIONER DENEEN seconded. <br /> Discussion - none . Motion passed 4-0 . <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> CHAIR COE OPENED THE PUBLIC HEARING <br /> PUBLIC HEARING - 2025 LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE UPDATES - BOCC <br /> RECOMMENDATION ACTION REQUESTED <br /> LONG RANGE PLANNER JEREMY JOHNSTON stated that there will be <br /> four land development code items presented and CDS staff is <br /> looking for a recommendation of approval . <br /> Item 25-01 - School Permissions in Rural 5 - This item proposed <br /> adding an allowance for schools in the rural 5 zone . This item <br /> came to CDS because the Cle Elum/Roslyn school district owns <br /> three parcels that are outside of the city urban growth area and <br /> are within the rural 5 zone . Under the current regulations the <br /> school use is considered non-conforming and cannot expand to <br /> accommodate the growth. The proposed development code change <br /> would allow the school district to utilize the land to expand <br /> school services and accommodate school district needs . This item <br /> simply changes the permission in the rural non-LAMIRD use table <br /> 2025-8-12 MINUTES 1 <br />
