<br />Ellensburg Humane Society: Annual Action Plan <br />As we evolve into the Ellensburg Humane Society, we are committed to delivering high -impact, community- <br />centered programs that elevate animal welfare and strengthen public engagement across Ellensburg and Kittitas <br />County. Some of our ideas include the following: <br /> <br />Quarterly Public Services: Expanded Medical Services <br />• Spay & Neuter Events: Host four quarterly clinics offering low-cost spay and neuter services to Kittitas <br />County residents, reducing stray populations and promoting responsible pet ownership. <br />• Vaccine & Microchip Clinics: Pair each spay/neuter event with free or low-cost vaccinations and <br />microchipping, improving public health and pet safety. <br />Ongoing Community Support <br />• Pet Food Pantry Access: Maintain and expand access to our pet food pantry for families in need, ensuring <br />no pet goes hungry due to financial hardship. <br />• Educational Outreach: Deliver monthly humane education sessions in schools and community centers to <br />promote empathy, responsible pet care, and shelter awareness. <br />Annual Signature Event <br />• Ellensburg Humane Gala: Launch a yearly fundraising gala to celebrate community impact, engage <br />donors, and raise critical funds for shelter operations and outreach programs. <br />Social & Fundraising Events <br />• Hops for Hounds Campaign: Partner with local breweries for pet-friendly happy hours with raffles, drink <br />specials, and adoptable pets. This has been a big success in Yakima the past three years. <br />Operational Goals <br />• Increase animal intakes and adoptions through targeted outreach and reduced barriers. <br />• Boost return-to -owner rates and transfers to partner agencies. <br />• Expand spay and neuter capacity beyond shelter animals, with a focus on low-income citizens and the feral <br />cat community.
