0
Kittitas Countv
Public Health
AO Departmer
To Protect and Promote the Health and the Environment of the People of Kittitas County
2026 Expense Detail
KCPHD's expenses are broken out into nine expense categories.
The department -wide expenses total $11,397,246. Because of the high number of subcontracts within the Human
Services division, Contracted Services is the highest expense category. However, for department operations,
Salaries and Benefits account for the largest expense, which aligns with both previous department and County -
level budgets.
Per the totals presented, expenses are currently projected at $2,291,491 over projected revenues. This is due to
Human Services fund balance totals within funds for Low Income Housing, Homelessness, Community Services
Millage, and 1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax. Contracts extending into 2026 contain
planned expenditures from the fund balances, however fund balance totals are not represented as a revenue
source. KCPHD works closely with the Kittitas County Auditor's Office to apply fund balances appropriately.
Salaries & Benefits
32%
Pass Through
Contracts
9%
Contracted Services
54%
County Central
_Services
3%
ETF Technology
Expenses
1%
Interfund Rent
1%
_.Travel and
Trainings
0%
Kittitas County Public Health Department-2026 Preliminary Budget Narrative Page 17 of 25
