n <br /> Updated partner updates. <br /> COUNTY RECREATION PLANNING UPDATE <br /> Chairman Cory Wright shared the job description drafted and the need for <br /> coordinated recreation planning. Discussion was held on various funding <br /> options to help solve problems such as garbage and parking on public <br /> land. Discussion on what tourism looks like where recreationalist lodge. <br /> Chairman Cory Wright directed the committee to contemplate if the county <br /> focus on policy or is the committee more concerned with access. Marc <br /> Eylar stated public access and expansion of access to public lands is a <br /> focus, not land management techniques such as garbage clean up and <br /> thinks this group could be utilized for comment on county policy, but <br /> continued access is most important. Jay Thompson agrees that zero loss <br /> is important, and the focus is accessing public land. Greg Parker' s <br /> concerned about the quality of access we get, preserving high quality <br /> access and a land use recreation planner could get a good lead on <br /> stakeholders to collaborate with the county. Vice Chairman Bill Essman <br /> would like the position to dedicate time to opening the closed roads. <br /> Discussion was held on lodging tax generated and uses of those funds for <br /> a position. Chairman Cory Wright requested the group give feedback on <br /> the position. <br /> GRANT PUD RECREATION & SHORELINE UPDATE <br /> Bradley Gasawski shared the recreation planning and shoreline update <br /> detailing impacts and improvements to recreation sites. Grant County <br /> would like feedback from Kittitas County on the plan update. <br /> Marc Eylar asked why the marina that was shut down in Vantage.
