Routine enforcement will be present <br /> with a reduction in extra weekend emphasis. <br /> Mike Livingston briefed the committee on the Yakima Training <br /> Center' s recreation and hunting closure. WDFW will be meeting with <br /> JBLM- Yakima to discuss some limited opportunity for recreation <br /> and stated the closure is brought on by federal budget cuts to <br /> security and increase training practices on the base. Chairman <br /> Cory Wright would like to be kept informed and wishes to meet with <br /> Army representatives regarding this matter and the impacts it <br /> could bring to agricultural land by growing herd numbers. The <br /> group discussed retaining hunting permits and maintaining public <br /> access to the land. <br /> Mike Livingston stated that river access on Springwood may be <br /> secured for Rill Adventure to use for rafters. Vice Chairman Bill <br /> Essman asked about Teanaway Church Camp site. Mike Livingston <br /> stated it scored well for site acquisition, but awaiting contract <br /> assuming funding is secured. <br /> Vice Chairman Bill Essman stated Pumphouse Road and Cayuse Road <br /> remain closed, and road maintenance is occurring. Cayuse Road had <br /> heavy erosion, but he predicts these will open soon. <br /> Greg Parker commented on Manastash logging operations and had <br /> concern about the remaining trees and the damage. Bradley Gasawski <br /> asked about the debris that was left, Jeff with WDFW stated the <br /> slash piles will remain a season and then burned. <br /> d. ) PARKS <br /> Chairman Cory Wright will be inviting a Parks Representative to a <br /> future meeting. There was discussion of progress that has been <br /> made on closures. <br /> e.) MOUNTAINS TO SOUND <br /> Jay Thompson stated that the group has three organized trail work <br /> events planned at Cheese Rock and in July three organized <br /> recreational activities at Teanaway Campground. Arden Thomas <br /> stated Mountains to Sound' s may have potential to assist with some <br /> land management activities. <br /> f.) ECRP <br /> Vice Chairman Bill Essman stated last month the meeting was <br /> canceled and no update. <br /> g.) CATTLEMEN <br /> No Update. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS <br /> BLM UPDATES <br /> Chairman Cory Wright informed the committee that BLM will be holding <br /> an event in the Yakima Canyon on June 17th from 11am-4pm and asked if <br /> members would like to attend.
