The Rodeo Board has been making great <br />progress on the expansion of the VIP Room in Western Village, as <br />well as enhancing and beautifying Yakama Village. Meanwhile, the <br />Top Hands have been busy with painting efforts and have <br />completed roof installations on the new stalls purchased last year. <br />The KVEC crew recently removed the remaining sections of the old <br />white track fence, replacing them with a more durable panel fence <br />that is now being painted to match the updated fencing installed <br />over the past few years. <br />Work is also being planned on the North Lot to improve the <br />experience for Premium Parking patrons. This includes leveling the <br />area and removing large rocks. Simultaneously, our team is <br />finishing up rock picking in the Rodeo Arena in preparation for the <br />Jr. Horse Fair, which begins August 14. <br />This week, asphalt repairs will be completed in front of the Expo <br />Halls and South Grandstands to ensure the area is ready ahead of Jr. <br />Horse Fair. We've adjusted our remaining project schedule to avoid <br />any conflicts during this time. In early August, the barn sound <br />system will be replaced and repaired —funded through our Law and <br />Justice grant. <br />Our volunteer Fair Grounds Committee has also been actively <br />working on beautification efforts around the grounds, particularly in <br />front of the main buildings and throughout the flower gardens. <br />Improvements include replacing the bike rack at the Main Gate and <br />adding a new one at the 8th Avenue entrance. Unfortunately, one of <br />the wooden walls of the Fair Board's Patio near the Main Gate was <br />damaged by a vehicle, but repairs are currently in progress. <br />INTERACTION: Kittitas Valley Event Center <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />ACTION REQUESTED: None <br />LEAD STAFF: Kady Porterfield, Kittitas Valley Event Center Director <br />
