PLANNING AREA <br />The planning area was defined to consist of the unincorporated county, four (4) incorporated jurisdictions <br />(i.e., cities and towns), and 11 special districts (i.e., school districts, fire districts, public utility districts, <br />higher education) within the geographical boundary of Kittitas County. All partners to this Plan have <br />jurisdictional authority within this planning area. <br />All incorporated jurisdictions were invited to participate in the planning process; however, the City of <br />Kittitas opted to not participate in this Hazard Mitigation Plan. Therefore, the City of Kittitas is not included <br />as a participating jurisdiction in this Plan. However, for Countywide interest and statistical purposes, some <br />of the City of Kittitas demographics and hazard-related data are included in this Plan. The intent of this <br />inclusion is to create a more informative plan regarding the hazards, risks, and vulnerabilities across all <br />of Kittitas County. <br />1.4. PARTICIPATING JURISDICTIONS <br />The participating jurisdictions (i.e., cities, towns, and special districts) listed in Table 1-1 were <br />represented by one (1) or more representatives. Responsibilities for each of the participating jurisdiction's <br />representatives included the following: <br />. Assist with gathering the appropriate data and historical information <br />. Complete the community preparedness survey. <br />. Participate in their jurisdiction's hazard analysis. <br />. Update existing mitigation actions. <br />. ldentify new mitigation actions. <br />. Participate in workshops , hazard mitigation meetings, and webinars <br />. Review draft documents, as necessary. <br />Contact information for each of the representatives and documentation of participation in the Plan update <br />are available in Appendlx B.
