Introduction <br />Tlris statement of work is for the 2025 -2027 biennial Interagency Agreement (IAA) for the Pollution <br />Prevention Assistance (PPA) Partnership, which is overseen by the Washingtolt State Department of <br />Ecology (ECOLOGY), Hazardous Waste & Toxic Reduction Program (HWTR). <br />The mission of the PPA Paltnership is <br />"14/e protect Washington's residents and environment by helping snrull busin.esses reduce toxic <br />chernical ttse, safely nxan.age dangerous utaste, and keep stonnwaterfree of pollutants." <br />The CONTRACTOR, through their Pollution Prevention Assistance (PPA) program, willconduct <br />rnultimedia solrrce control site visits and pollution prevention activities to businesses that are small <br />quarrtity generators (SQGs) of dangerous waste. In this context an SQG is any business, non-profit, <br />facility, school, or other organization that generates less than 220 pounds of dangerous waste per calendar <br />month and less than2.2 pounds of extremely hazardous waste per calendar month. The site visits, along <br />with other pollution prevention activities conducted by ttre CONTRACTOR, will be designed to reduce or <br />eliminate dangerous waste and other pollutants at the source through best management practices tlrat <br />prevent spills and discharges to ground, air, and water (especially to industrial wastewater and <br />stonnwater). <br />To further facititate the redr.rctiorr or elimination of toxic chemical use at the source, the CONTRACTOR <br />will seek and discuss oppoftunities to assist businesses with switching processes, prodttcts, or equipment <br />to use effective safer altenratives.
