Public Information <br />Public information activities advise property owners, potential property owners, and visitors about the <br />hazards, ways to protect people and property from the hazards, such as floodplains and the wildfire <br />hazard areas. Examples include: <br /> <br />• Map Information <br />• Outreach Projects <br />• Real Estate Disclosure <br />• Library <br />• Technical Assistance <br />• Environmental Education <br /> <br />Steering Committee Discussion: The committee identified that public information activities are <br />particularly appropriate for all of the six (6) highest ranking natural hazards (Table 5-2). The Flood Control <br />Zone District provides outreach for flood hazard outreach and technical assistance. Furthermore, wildfire <br />hazard education is facilitated through the Fire Adapted Communities coalition. Additionally, burn ban <br />signage and fire risk information on mobile boards educates visitors about wildfire risk. <br />Table 5-2. MITIGATION STRATEGIES AND ACTIONS <br />Plan participants assessed hazard mitigation actions, including actions from FEMA guidance documents, <br />the 2019 Kittitas County Hazard Mitigation Plan, and suggestions from participating communities and <br />their respective stakeholders during a series of workshops and public meetings that took place throughout <br />the County in February 2024. Supporting documentation for stakeholders and public engagement can be <br />found in Appendix B and C, respectively. A summary of Unincorporated Kittitas County’s mitigation <br />actions status is listed in Table 5-3 and all mitigation actions can be found in Appendix A. <br /> <br />Mitigation actions and status for each plan participant can be found in their respective annex. <br />
