Goal 3:Prevent episodes of homelessness whenever possible <br /> • Objective: Prevent homelessness through early intervention and barrier removal. <br /> • Strategies: <br /> o Diversion <br /> o Eviction prevention <br /> o barrier removal funds . <br /> o Collaboration between non-profit, public, faith based and private <br /> organizations. <br /> o Clearly Communicate where and how to get help. <br /> • Success Measures: <br /> o Reduction in the number of individuals entering homelessness (source: PIT <br /> Count/ Masterlist-CE) <br /> o Decreased eviction rates (source: county records—TBC) <br /> o Increase in successful diversions (source: Coordinated Entry) <br /> Will these strategies help accomplish the goal? <br /> • Ensure coordination between existing resources, avoid duplication, pool <br /> resources, etc, to better fill the gaps. <br /> • Eviction prevention—include major landlords in private organizations <br /> collaborations. They can send info to rentors when in rent arrears. Eviction is <br /> expensive. <br /> Will we have leadership support for these strategies? <br /> • Need data of successes. Show outcomes of these programs. Putting dollar <br /> value on diversions, etc. Infographic showing what these do as opposed to <br /> eviction process. Cost of jail, homelessness, etc. <br /> Are these strategies realistic and achievable? <br /> • Yes. Policy implications. What is our role to advocate for these? <br /> Are these measures appropriate? <br /> • Yes. Add measure about savings/cost effectiveness. <br />
