Appllcant Proflle and Quallfications: Tell us about your organiration including the <br />purpose of your work, your goals, any history, and experience working ln homeless <br />and/or affordable housing services, experience managing public funds, and anything <br />else that describes the organieation's qualifications, (250 words max.) <br />The purpose of HopeSource is to ptotect those who cannot prolect themselves and to <br />encourage those who can. Our goals are to end homelessness in our community and to support <br />people in buildlng self-sufflclent lives. Hope5ource has a 5O-year hlstory as a ptivate, non-profit <br />comrnunlty action agency operating in a rural environment, making a difference through <br />programs that stabllize households ,n crisis including housing, nutrition, enerEy assistance, <br />home weatherization, transportation, rental assislance, and youth recreation asslstance. <br />Hope5ource serves as the Continuum ofCare lead for Kittitas County, operates the Coordinated <br />Entry system for (ittitas County, conducts the annual Point-ln-Tlme count. completes the <br />Comrnunity Needs Assessrnent, operates th€ only homeless shelter in the county, built 26 units <br />of new affordable housing in Cle Elum, kept 167 units of affordable housing units from going <br />merket rate. HopeSource case managers are trained in traurna-informed care, motivational <br />interviewing, WSCAP family development, home health worker, mental health first aid. and <br />famlly stability planning. HopeSource oversees administration of 45 federal, state and local <br />contracts includingi Consolidated Horneless Grant, Housing and Essential Needs, Supportive <br />Services for Veteran Families, McKinney-Vento, HUD, Rural Development, Housing Trust Fund, <br />Holrsing Finance Commission, Youth Hornelessness Demonstration Program, and private <br />funding from the ROE Foundation, Mercer Creek Church, the Shoemaker Foundation, and the <br />Suncadia Associate Fund. <br />4
