Public Health Infrastructure <br /> Communications <br /> • Communications plan—Jess Santos, our Communications Coordinator, has developed our <br /> first Communications Plan for the department.This outlines our communications strategy <br /> and how we implement that over the next few years.Asa part of this plan,we are <br /> developing many additional tools and guides specific to different communication elements <br /> and needs. <br /> • Brand voice-our brand voice is how our department communicates to the public and why. <br /> This document outlines the key characteristics that guide our voice and tone:trustworthy, <br /> community-focused, knowledgeable, humble, positive, and professional. <br /> • Social media process and training- utilizing our brand voice and communications plan as <br /> the guides,we have been revising our social media strategy and hosting training for staff. <br /> • Customer journey mapping-we are documenting how each division works with the public <br /> and their stakeholders and identifying where the opportunities for improvement. <br /> • Reach plan -this document describes who our audiences are and how we reach them.We <br /> will be expanding this project to centralize all partner contacts to better streamline <br /> outreach and promotion efforts. <br /> • Website-Jess is reviewing our current website content in preparation for the new website <br /> project.Jess is also researching website best practices and drafting page designs that will <br /> provide the most useful user experience to navigate our new website. <br /> Epi <br /> • Data handbook and policy-these documents will outline the basics of data in our <br /> department and how to use and interact with data for all department roles. <br /> • Behavioral Health Needs Assessment-the key informant interviews, community survey, <br /> and focus groups are complete. Lianne Bradshaw, our epidemiologist, is also pulling <br /> quantitative data indicators.We are analyzing the data and starting to draft the report. <br /> • Data Sharing Agreement renewals—these are the agreements with the Washington State <br /> Department of Health that get us access to state and other specialized data to inform and <br /> support our work. Each renewal requires careful review, often takes a lot of communication <br /> with DOH to finalize. <br /> • Community air quality survey launch (in collaboration with Assessment) -this survey is to <br /> gather information about how smoke and poor air quality affects residents of Kittitas <br /> County. Follow up Point in Time (PIT) surveys will be deployed if there are wildfire events in <br /> the upcoming months. <br /> • Measles communication - Lianne is communicating the most recent Washington case <br /> information with Jess to distribute to the public.We are working on an overall <br /> Communicable Disease Communications Plan to know when to share information with the <br /> public. It is a challenging balance to be transparent vs. overcommunicating and <br /> desensitizing residents to the important information we are providing. <br /> • Lianne worked with Kelly Bacon, our Local Emergency Response Coordinator, on a <br /> successful measles tabletop exercise with KVH and other local partners. <br /> • Child Fatality Review data - Lianne is pulling data for the Health Promotion (HP)team to <br /> complete case review.This data is extremely sensitive and is being carefully packaged for <br /> HP's review. <br /> 23 <br />
