Private Sector <br />All Mission <br />Areas <br />Private sector entities operate in all sectors of business, commerce, private <br />universities, and industry that support the operation, security, and resilience of <br />global trade systems. Owners and operators of private sector entities and <br />infrastructure should maintain situational awareness and take actions on a <br />continuous basis to p romote and build capabilities <br />. Maintain situational awareness of the current threat environment, including <br />potentialterrorism-related activities; this awareness allows private sector <br />entities to assist in preventing terrorism by identifying and reporting potential <br />terrorism-related activity to law enforcement <br />Protection <br />r Both private and public sector infrastructure develop and implement: <br />o Risk-based protective programs; and <br />o Resilience strategies for infrastructure; and <br />o Related information and operations under their control <br />. Make investments in security and resilience as necessary components of <br />prudent day-to-day business and continuity of operations planning <br />.
