We used a
combination of older dala from Dean Runyan reports and more current dala from Washington Tourism websites to siructure our
estimates.
Using spending and accommodation tables and 2019 data from the Dean Runyan Report which had county specific data:
For 2024 actuals:
Es{., Altendance Paid Overnight (35% of 553) = 193
Est.. Attendance Did Not Pay Overnight (65% of 553) = 359
lncl. Day attendees (28o/o, est. 155 ppl), stay in private homes (37%, est. 205 ppl)
Of those staying in hotels/motels, the average party size is 2.3 people, and they stay an average of 2.5 nights.
2024Es|., Paid Lodging Nights= 193 12.3x2.5=2O9.8
We calculated out 2025 projections based on these same percentages.
Revenue lmpacts
From http:l/choosewashingtonstate.comlwhy-washington/our-key-sectors/tourisml
Choose Washington the WA State Department of Commerce website states that the average visitor spends $216 per visil (2022
data). lndustry reports estimate that every dollar speni by a tourist creates $1 .36 in additional economic impact.
From the Economic lmpact of Tourism in WA - Kittitas County visitor spending in 2020 infographic
Kittitas Co had 836,375 visitors who spent $202.2 million in 2020 - which is approximatety $241 .75 per person. Visitors spent
money in the following areas: Accommodations (35.5%), Food & Beverage (22.90/,), Recreation (includes arts) ('13.9%), Retail
(1 5.7 %), and Transportation (1 2.0%).
We utilize a ticketing platform repofis tickets purchased by zip code, for any purchase online or onsite that is paid wiih a
crediUdebit card. This accounts for approximately 85.5% of iickets sold. While we recognize ihat some local attendees will
purchase tickets on behalf of out-of-town family and friends, this report allows us io get a much more accurate idea of the
number of attendees coming from cities that are 50+ miles away. ln addition, we use:
Post-eveni surveys emailed to ticket purchasers
Ticket information
Google and website Analytics and Tracking
Social Media Campaigns and Ads
2500 character limit
Application Questions: Part 5 o
8l Funding
Response 8.1 : Does your organization have, or have you applied for funding from other sources? *
s) Yes
lNo
