Application Questions: Part 3 o 4l Collaboration Response 4.1: lfyour organization collaborates or has created partnerships with other organizations, groups, or other events, how is this accomplished?* We work collaboratively within the Laughing Horse Ar1s Foundaiion with other eniities such as Central Washington University, local school districts, and other communiiy and semi-professional theaters in the area to promote the goal of producing musical thealer events. Warehouse Theatre in Yakima has been a collaborative partner for tech support and we routinely cross-lend materials for various productions, and they have gifted us much needed lighting equipment. We work with and continue lo develop our relationship with CWU's Music, Theater and Film depariments, and the Ellensburg School District; many facuity members have donated their time and efforts behind the scenes and performed in our shows. We have collaboraied with CWU's Central Communication Agency since April 2024 lo work with student interns on marketing and social media projects, and are a SLICE community organization that can offer internship hours to students. Laughing Horse Arts Foundation has several sub-organizaiions (WC, Ellensburg Community Radio, Ellensburg Music Festival, Boulet Productions, Classics in Ellensburg), and we cross-promote activities and events, and even collaborate for resources if needed for a production. All of our actors/performers volunleer their time to rehearse and perform the shows, as well as backstage crew set builders, costumers, and hair/makeup helpers who volun{eer iheir time to make sure the show looks and runs smoothly. One of our proud successes over the past few years is that we have created partnerships with local businesses and local organizations including ihe LO.O.F., the Clymer Museum and Foundation, and Hotel Windrow to utilize non-traditional spaces and ballrooms for theatrical performances, and we will conlinued to develop these partnerships. Valley Theatre Company is a stakeholder in the Ellensburg Aris and Culiural Alliance and is represented on its board. Since 2021 , we have been a part of the investment, strategic planning. and implementation process. This alliance is made up of members from the city and county leaders, business development, artists and educators to develop a thriving artist communily in Ellensburg. Our Executive Director also sits on the Steering Committee for Ellensburg's Creative Disirict. 2500 character lirrrit Response 4.2: Describe how you will promote lodging establishments, restaurants, and business located in Kiftitas County* Over the past few years, we've had measurable suecess working with Ellensburg restaurants to create cross-promotion oppodunities during the weekends of our event. Some have offered discounts on appetizers or desserts io ticket holders, others have created custom cockiails, or themed menus. They advertised our show via flyers on the table (which we provide), and we advertised the specials on our website and ticketing platform. Restaurants had the freedom to structure the special as it worked best forthem. We've had limited success in connecting with hoiel managers forthe "stay-and-see a play" packages, and are continuing to build and get the word out. We also will provide rack display cards advertising our upcoming shows for hoiel lobby displays. We also rely on local business support to contribute tq the shows itself, with many businesses providing in-kind donation sponsorship and suppori. For instance, at the recent production we received in kind business donations of costume cleaning, maker space facilities for building our sets, hairstyling, costume and prop donations, discounts on paint materials, and concession donations.
