INTRODUCTION <br />A. Mission <br />The mission of the Kittitas County Emergency Management is to support the citizens and <br />government of Kittitas County in the preparing for, mitigation of, responding to, and the recover <br />from natural or man-made disasters. <br /> The goal of the Kittitas County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) is to <br />provide a system of emergency management programs, plans, and procedures that provide for <br />the response and recovery of any disaster. This is done by building community collaboration <br />and utilizing volunteer resources. Collaborative involvement includes: <br />1. Defining emergency strategies. <br />2. Identifying resources. <br />3. Combining essential services. <br />4. Defining the responsibilities of various participants while recognizing their <br />jurisdictional differences. <br />5. Creating an atmosphere of interagency, coordination and cooperation. <br />6. Developing citizen self-sufficiency. <br />7. Continual development of Threats and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments. <br />8. Continuing to build community resiliency through collaboration with all segments of <br />our population.
