Monitoring Well 88 Plans and Specificationa <br />rir4icas Couray Solid Waste <br />with the GEOLOGIST. The posts shall be installed a minimum of 1.5 feet embedded in cement below <br />the ground surface. <br />The well monument and the protective posts shall be painted with a highly visible paint as indicated <br />on the Plans and in accordance with Sections 2.3.6 and 2.3.7 <br />The CONTRACTOR shall place silica sand pack material in the above -ground annular space between <br />the well casing and the well monument. The Ecology well tag shall be affixed to the outer diameter of <br />well monument using stainless steel bands following Chapter 173-160-311 WAC. <br />Well Development <br />3.1 Well Development <br />The CONTRACTOR shall develop the well by bailing, pumping, and surging until turbidity decreases <br />and stabilizes. Minimum development time shall be 30 minutes with tools working downhole. Stable <br />turbidity shall be defined as turbidity less than 5 Nephelometric Turbidity Unit (NTU) following <br />pumping. The GEOLOGIST will be onsite during development to confirm ceasing of well development <br />by measuring turbidity. Samples may be collected at the end of development by the GEOLOGIST. The <br />discha rge tube from the development pump shall be capable of connecting to a standard 0.45 <br />micron filter using 3/8-inch outside diameter silicon tubing. Hydraulic testing following well <br />development will be completed by the GEOLOGIST separately. <br />33.1 Purge Water <br />Purge water from development will be discharged to ground surface in a manner that does not affect <br />Facility operations. <br />3.1.2 WeD De-velopment Records <br />The CONTRACTOR shall record the total volume purged and qualitative observations of turbidity <br />during development. Written records shall be provided to the GEOLOGIST at the conclusion of <br />development. <br />3,1.3 Decontamination <br />Well development equipment must be either new and disposable or decontaminated prior to initiated <br />well development. Decontamination of development equipment may be completed with distilled or <br />potable water and Liquinox or equivalent cleaning solution, All decontaminated equipment shall be <br />thoroughly rinsed prior to use in development to prevent cleaning solutions from being introduced to <br />the well. Water can be disposed of in the easternmost leachate evaporation pond as noted in <br />Section 2.2.2. <br />easuxearnl,ent and Payment <br />The CONTRACTOR shall be compensated by unit prices. For Work completed in exceedance of the <br />work contract amount, unit prices shall apply, <br />14 February 2025 1 553-1763-010 <br />
