8| Funding
Response 8.1: Does your organization have, or have you applied for funding from other sources?*
Response 8.2a: If not, please explain why not.*
Response 8.3: What changes will be made if funding for your request is not available or recommended?*
Matching Funds Percentage
Application Questions: Part 5
Yes
No
Junk-tiquen in the Burg has not pursued grant funding from other sources, as we have not identified any additional grants that
align with our current structure. We are extremely grateful for the current grant and all the volunteer hours we receive. The
dedication of our volunteers has been a tremendous asset to the event. Their contributions not only help reduce costs but also
foster a strong sense of community involvement.
Despite the absence of additional funding, we are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who contribute significantly to the
success of the event.
• Estimated Total Volunteer Hours: 1,652 hours for the year.
• Value of Volunteer Time: Based on a rate of $23.56 per hour, the total value of these volunteer hours amounts to
approximately $38,921.12 for the year. This substantial contribution helps offset operational costs and allows us to focus
our limited funds on key areas such as marketing and venue expenses. (Per the Independent Sector the value of a
volunteer hour in Washington State for 2024 is actually higher @ $33.49/hour which increases the value even more.)
2500 character limit
The grant plays a crucial role in sustaining our marketing efforts for Junk-tiquen in the Burg. Consistent and strategic marketing
is essential for attracting attendees from outside our immediate area, and this funding significantly supports those initiatives.
With the continued support of the grant, we can focus on revitalizing Junk-tiquen in the Burg to where it was pre COVID,
ensuring it remains a thriving and anticipated event in our community. Your support is vital as we strive to regain our momentum
and bring more visitors to Kittitas County.
If funding is reduced or cut, it will necessitate a thorough evaluation of several key factors to maintain the viability and success
of Junk-tiquen in the Burg. Here are the areas we will focus on:
1. Location Evaluation: Assess the current venue's suitability and costs. If expenses become unsustainable, we may need
to consider alternative locations that offer better affordability while still accommodating our needs.
2. Event Size Considerations: Reevaluate the scale of the event to determine if a smaller, more manageable format would
be feasible. This could involve reducing the number of vendors or limiting the scope of the show to align with available
resources.
3. Marketing Costs: Marketing is crucial for drawing attendees from outside the area. We will need to identify which
marketing strategies yield the best return on investment and prioritize those. We potentially would need to cut back on
outside the area marketing.
4. Budget Reassessment: Conduct a thorough budget review to identify all expenses and determine what can be adjusted
or eliminated without compromising the quality of the event. We will explore opportunities for in-kind contributions and
community support to offset costs.
While reduced funding would present challenges, we are committed to finding solutions that allow Junk-tiquen to continue. By
strategically evaluating our options and focusing on our core strengths, we can continue to promote this beloved community
event, potentially just on a smaller scale if need be.
Thank you for considering our application.
2500 character limit.
620.30
This field will auto fill with the correct percentage based on your input to budget section below.
