Response 6.1: Provide any additional information which will assist the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee in evaluating your project and its benefit to tourism. Our plan in 2025 is to continue to encourage Cultural Tourism through our events as well as through cemetery visitation. The visitors are here. How do we attract their attention to educate and share our unique and treasured heritage sites and history? And how do we spread the load and get heads in beds during the less busy times such as during the week? This is something we will continue to improve and work on in 2025. We are fortunate to have broad support from various groups in the community. Our volunteer hours shown only include hours for our events in 2024. They do not include the thousands of volunteer hours spent in the Roslyn Cemetery each year maintaining and improving the grounds as well as working on the various projects throughout the 27 different cemeteries. We also have a goal of increasing volunteer participation with the focus on encouraging multiple generations to be more involved. We are actively working on increasing opportunities to provide our members and visitors with local lodging choices. Improving how we capture information about local lodging nights for our events and on our visitor log at the Roslyn Cemetery is also part of that plan. Until this year, we have not used our full funding from past LTAC contracts. These reasons include cutting back on the number of events due to the pandemic, change in event spending, and not having a complete understanding of qualified reimbursable expenses (ie. Thank You ads don’t qualify, or anything that asks for donations). Our 2021 LTAC Contract was for a single event, the Roslyn Cemetery Kiosk Dedication.
