We promote our annual offerings of events, exhibits, classes, and
unique gift shop to self-identified arts lovers, the cultural tourist, and those who seek value added experiences to their time in
Kittitas County.
Gallery One is a one-of-a-kind contemporary arts hub in the center of Washington state offering unique experiences, events and
exhibits that people travel to experience. To highlight a few of our most unique offerings:
> Classes: Because of the success we have experienced in our one of kind ceramics studio, we have also opened a screen
printing studio that will equally be available to artists from around the state at a low entry point for classes, workshops and
product development. Residents from Mount Vernon, Fall City, Oak Harbor and other towns travel to use our facilities.
> Exhibits: Our exhibits bring in artists and artwork that are not readily available such as two significant partnerships this year
with PUNCH Projects to produce a time based arts exhibit and CWU to bring in a significant collection of master print works from
The Crow’s Shadow Institute
> Events: As the certified city host with international based platform Pecha Kucha, we share stories about our community with a
larger audience in addition to being an anchor participant of First Friday ArtWalk.
> We are open 6 days a week year-round for the cultural tourist.
2500 character limit
Note: You MUST be present at the Q&A meeting to qualify for funding.
https://youtu.be/5G3ShJz7nI8
Response 1.3: List of Intended Use of Funds *
Note: This language will be related in the contract if awarded.
The CLTAC cannot approve funds not listed under RCW 67.28.1816. As mentioned
above we feel that we have unique offerings in the county that include
1) regular hours throughout the year including the off season with free access to all ages and are open on Sundays;
2) artmaking facilities and classes worth travelling for as is the case of our ceramics studio and new printmaking studio;
3) we now also opened a second location on Main Street for other artists and nonprofits, adding to the cultural vitality of
downtown;
4) we are an anchor participant in the popular First Friday Art Walk spurring economic activity for the entire downtown;
5) our exhibits feature nationally acclaimed artists such as MacArthur Genius Award Winner Trimpin, alongside emerging and
regional artists.
6) our events are centered around art and engagement and are fun ways to meet people and experience art. These events
range from artist receptions and talks, studio tours, to classes for all skill levels.
2500 character limit
