K ITT ITAS rnutirr Fax (509) 962-7010 <br />STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: February 24, 2025 <br />BACKGROUND: The Kittitas County Fair Board reviewed new opportunities for the <br />Fair's sponsorship program and has decided the management <br />responsibility will be brought fully under the Fair Board, within the <br />County authority. <br />Coincidentally, a new Sponsorship and Donation Policy is being <br />proposed for Kittitas County and is in the middle of the review <br />process. The Fair's sponsorship program will abide by that new <br />policy as well as any department -specific policies that are created. <br />This change will allow for consistency on how sponsorships are <br />handled within the entire KVEC Department, provide full <br />transparency on Fair sponsorships, and create new opportunities for <br />collaborations with year -long partnerships. <br />A new relationship agreement with the Friends of the Fair <br />Foundation is being drafted, now that they will not be providing <br />sponsorship services any longer. <br />INTERACTION: Kittitas Valley Event Center <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Kittitas County Fair Board <br />LEAD STAFF: Kady Porterfield, Kittitas Valley Event Center Director <br />
