Acts as a technicaI expert with the Sheriff's Office <br />regarding Digitat Forensics. Receives a speciat commission from the Sheriff <br />granting timited authority to work with regular commissioned deputies and <br />detectives underthe guidance of Locat/State/Federal taws and regulations, <br />County poticies, regulations and procedures. <br />None <br />Futt-Time OCCUPATION CODE: xxxx <br />Locat760 (Non-Uniformed Jait) HOURS/WEEK: 40 <br />Non-Exempt DRS ELIGIBILITY: PERS <br />Law Enforcement PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 12 Months <br />a <br />ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS <br />Conduct seizures and examinations of electronic devices inctuding cett phones, smart phones, tabtets, <br />laptops, personaI computers, and etectronic data storage media to secure and recover data as <br />evidence. <br />Participate in the execution of search warrants for evidence in criminal investigations inctuding <br />deptoying into the fietd to assist Law Enforcement in evidence searches and cottection. Conduct on- <br />site forensic anatysis previews of digitat evidence. <br />Prepare detaited reports of digitat evidence extractions, analyses, and investigations. <br />Assist prosecuting attorneys with triaI preparation and the coordinated presentation of digitat evidence. <br />Make court appearances and give testimony retating to investigations. <br />Make recommendations regarding items to be seized based on search warrant specifics and relevant <br />case [aw. <br />Conduct and participate in internet-based investigations inctuding but not timited to ontine operations <br />regarding chitd exptoitation, chitd pornography, underage prostitution, and cyberstatking. <br />Keep up-to-date with emerging threats, hacking techniques, and new forensic methodotogies. <br />Learn new and emerging technotogies relevant to digitat forensic investigations such as peer-to-peer <br />network operations and advanced open-source inte[[igence techniques. <br />Develop and maintain cotlaborative and respectfutretationships with office members, outside <br />agencies, and others. <br />Present information to community organizations and professionaI conferences regarding digital, <br />forensic investigations. <br />Provide training and education for Sheriff's Office and other pubtic safety personneI regarding digitat <br />forensics. <br />Compty with retevant laws and regulations and the poticies of the Sheriff's Office and Kittitas County, <br />and work in a manner that ref lects the Mission, Vision, and Vatues of the Sheriff's Office. <br />Ensure integrity and confidentiatity of evidence by property securing and documenting data and <br />devices to maintain a reliabte chain of custody. <br />a <br />a <br />a <br />O <br />a <br />a <br />a
