KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STAFF REPORT <br />Solid Waste <br />SPECIAL MEETING DATE: February 11, 2025 <br />TOPIC: Change Order No. 2 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Board's Signature on Change Order No. 2 <br />LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey, Director <br />RECOMMENDATION: Recommend Boards Signature on Change Order Number 2 with <br />Belsaas and Smith Construction, Inc. <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: We have completed the review of Change Order Proposals <br />(COP) #01, COP #02, and COP #10. These proposals have been incorporated into <br />Change order No. 2 and are ready for the Board's signature. <br />BACKGROUND: On September 3, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners approved <br />a resolution to award the bid for the Lower County Transfer Station to Belsaas and Smith <br />Construction, Inc. <br />DISCUSSION: Change Order Number 2 is for items that were changed from the original <br />bid (increased louver size), items missing in the original bid documents (removal of <br />additional fencing), and value engineering (deletion of the need to relocate electrical <br />vaults, and a change to the perimeter fence slats). <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: Net reduction in contract cost of $11,754.08 before Washington <br />State Sales Tax <br />ATTACHMENTS: Change Order No. 2, COP #01, COP#02, COP# 10 <br />Legal consultation - No <br />Finance consulted - No <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Solid Waste "Special Meeting Staff Report", 2/21/2024 <br />
