Survey on Short-Term Rentals
172 Supports local economy (shops, restaurants, contractors, service providers) much better than 2/6/2025 2:36 PM
empty cabins.
173 Long term rentals are fine...short term rentals, in my experience bring mostly people looking to 2/6/2025 2:25 PM
party in the mountains. Overcrowded short term rentals and limited parking in the winter
especially is not a good fit
174 They spend money at the ski area 2/6/2025 2:10 PM
175 Visitors shop here and will likely spend money at our small businesses 2/6/2025 2:10 PM
176 Most of the time short term rentals lead to parties, people not knowing how to drive in winter 2/6/2025 2:04 PM
conditions, and not following HOA rules regarding parking and privacy
177 For the most part, I believe they drive up house values artificially, and threaten the integrity of 2/6/2025 1:27 PM
our destination communities.
178 Referrals to local restaurants/shops/events etc to all rental guests are included plus local 2/6/2025 1:12 PM
goodies bought with business cards of business included in all rentals.
179 Brings people in 2/6/2025 11:26 AM
180 They are usually bought as investments and drive up the cost of living 2/6/2025 11:25 AM
181 1 do think STR get people to spend money, but rental for lower wage workers is compromised. 2/6/2025 10:56 AM
182 they spend the night and therefor represent tourism and the local community benefits from 2/6/2025 10:44 AM
their purchases
183 It creates an opportunity to bring travelers in to enjoy the amenities the community has to 2/6/2025 10:43 AM
offer. Increased revenue
184 They bring visitors into our communities where they spend money 2/6/2025 10:42 AM
185 Gives a fucktonne of taxes to the county 2/6/2025 10:38 AM
186 Bring Money into small businesses and taxes they pay go into our county 2/6/2025 10:38 AM
187 Renters spending money with owners to allow them to make improvements to their homes or 2/6/2025 10:35 AM
pay off their homes as well as spending money in the local economy is good. Full time short
term rentals where the owner bought it as an investment are bad.
188 Brings in people, therefore more customers to all restaurants and shops. 2/6/2025 10:26 AM
189 Brings in folks that spend time in our towns 2/6/2025 10:09 AM
190 at snoqualmie pass tourism drives revenue and will create more local business 2/6/2025 10:04 AM
191 It brings income into the community...cleaners, maintenance, restaurants, bars, golf 2/6/2025 9:56 AM
communities
192 visitors will patronize local establishments 2/6/2025 9:47 AM
193 There's no affordable housing for locals 2/6/2025 9:39 AM
194 Bring in tourists who are likely to spend money in local shops and restaurants 2/6/2025 9:38 AM
195 1 live in Hyak/Snoqualmie Pass. Many of the short term rentals in my neighborhood come up 2/6/2025 9:36 AM
and party at their rental and then leave. The majority of the money for the rental tends to flow
down to King county since many of the local owners live in Seattle and Bellevue. This
therefore does not positively benefit our neighborhood.
196 The only person they benefit is the owner that can't afford to pay their own mortgage 2/6/2025 9:22 AM
payments.
197 It gives a great chance for outsiders to come up and enjoy the pass, many of which would 2/6/2025 9:17 AM
have not had the opportunity had there not been short-term rentals available. It helps put our
very small community on the map and promote local business which we do a great job up here
of keeping local. There is a strong balance between short-term rentals, local economy, and full-
time residents that needs to be met in order to maintain the feel that we have. Getting rid of it
would be silly, but they're obviously needs to be more opportunity for affordable housing,
especially for the employees who rely on proximity to the pass.
9/87
