Survey on Short-Term Rentals
153 Absoulutly, short term rentals have allowed for my neighbors and I to have an extra source of 2/6/2025 10:23 PM
income to support our families and hobbies
154 It brings people outside of the community into the community to experience the things that we 2/6/2025 10:07 PM
enjoy.
155 Too many profiteers squeezing every dime out of a house that should be occupied fill time. 2/6/2025 8:29 PM
156 No considerable increase above other lodging options already in place 2/6/2025 6:57 PM
157 Short-term rentals (STRs)contribute positively to local economies in several ways: 1. 2/6/2025 6:53 PM
Increased Tourism Spending—STRs attract more visitors, who then spend money at local
restaurants, cafes, shops, and attractions, boosting revenue for small businesses. 2. Job
Creation—The STR industry supports jobs in cleaning, property management, maintenance,
and concierge services, creating employment opportunities for locals. 3. Diversified Lodging
Options—STRs provide affordable and unique lodging alternatives, attracting different types of
travelers who may not have visited otherwise. 4. Higher Tax Revenue—Many cities impose
occupancy taxes on STRs, generating additional tax revenue that can fund public services,
infrastructure, and local programs. 5. Support for Local Vendors—STR owners often source
furniture, decor, and supplies from local businesses, further stimulating economic activity. 6.
Increased Property Values—When managed responsibly, STRs can drive up demand for
housing, increasing property values and potential tax contributions. 7. Encouragement of
Property Upkeep—Many STR owners invest in renovations and regular maintenance, which
can improve neighborhood aesthetics and property standards.
158 People overpaying for short term rentals affects local prices for standard goods 2/6/2025 6:43 PM
159 From an economical perspective, yes. The business from folks on vacation dies gave an 2/6/2025 6:11 PM
impact. However as a resident I do not think they out weigh the down side of impact on
community. Not ever think is about money.
160 More tourist dollars 2/6/2025 5:05 PM
161 They bring in more great people that enjoy the area too!! 2/6/2025 4:52 PM
162 They help supply steady tourism and this the economy as a whole. 2/6/2025 4:40 PM
163 Good for tourism 2/6/2025 4:39 PM
164 The people are super rude and invasive and disrespectful of full time residentso 2/6/2025 4:19 PM
165 Short term rentals provide lodging opportunities for guests that are coming to town with a 2/6/2025 4:09 PM
family or group that wouldn't be as enjoyable in a hotel, these visitors are going to events, and
local shops, restaurants and bars, guide services and many more, enabling a notable amount
of revenue for many local businesses while also allowing short term rental owners the
opportunity to host these visitors and generate income to help make ends meet or sustain their
livelihood
166 My sole income is from housekeeping service 2/6/2025 4:02 PM
167 Interest in community, support for local businesses, future investors in local real estate, future 2/6/2025 4:01 PM
tax dollars.
168 Renters come up to party and be rowdy in our neighborhoods. The noise, litter, excessive 2/6/2025 3:41 PM
vehicles, and general rudeness of renters makes the experience unpleasant for the community.
The only ones who benefit are the homeowners who rent them out.
169 They bring much needed money to local businesses. 2/6/2025 3:19 PM
170 They spend more at local businesses than people that live here permanently 2/6/2025 2:57 PM
171 The people that come to the area are increase this raising the retail and food revenues. If str 2/6/2025 2:52 PM
are restricted there will be less visitors to the community, thus lower tax revenues, business
not able to cover their costs and thrive. The clientele will only be to serve hotels like Suncadia
which has higher income clientele that will stay within the resort. That's a goal of the local
hotels like Suncadia to restrict short term rentals to boost their resort clientele and business
was. Restricting STR will cause a reduced visitors to the area AND reduce housing cost. But if
the smaller business can't make it without flow from STIR and only people who line I. The area
they won't need employees because they will be out of business.
8/87
