Members are required to comply with the Kittitas County Boards, Committees, and <br />Commissions Handbook <br /> <br />MEMBERSHIP <br />Board Composition <br />Per RCW 71A.14.020, the board shall consist of not less than nine nor more than <br />fifteen members. Members appointed should include, but not limited to, <br />representatives of public, private, or voluntary agencies, representatives of local <br />governmental units, and citizens knowledgeable about developmental <br />disabilities. <br />Requirements for membership <br />Per Developmental Disabilities Administration contract with Kittitas County <br />(Special Terms and Conditions #4g. No board member shall have a contract with <br />the county to provide training, community information activities, consumer <br />support and shall not be a board member, officer, or employee of an agency <br />subcontracting with the county to provide such services. <br />Terms of Office <br />Members shall be appointed for three-year terms I with the terms of one third of <br />the members expiring each year. A member whose term expires may be re - <br />appointed. (RCW 71A. 14.020) <br />Attendance/Absentee Policy <br />Three ( 3) unexcused absences from meetings per calendar year by any member <br />may cause the Committee to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners <br />(BOCC) that the member be dropped from the DDAC. <br />New Member Recruitment <br />Recruitment of new applicants is to be led by the procedure as follows: <br />A. The board is to establish a recruitment subcommittee. <br />B. The subcommittee shall interview applicants. <br />C. The subcommittee shall then make a recommendation to the board on which <br />applicant they believe should move forward. <br />D. The committee shall then vote on the recommended applicant. <br />E. The committee shall then offer recommendation of approved applicant to BOCC. <br />F. Upon final approval, BOCC shall send a letter to approved applicant. <br /> <br />
