Callback: An employee who is required to return to work after having completed his/her <br />regular shift, and having left the premises, shall be paid a minimum of four (4) hours of pay at <br />the applicable rate. Time shall be computed on a portalto-portal basis. This section shall not <br />apply to Section 11.11 Court Time. <br />Callout: An employee who is required to report to work less than four (4) hours prior to the <br />beginning of a regularly assigned shift shall receive four (4) hours at the overtime rate of pay. <br />Said employee shall be allowed to complete the employee's regular scheduled shift. There <br />shall be no pyramiding of overtime. <br />Call-in: An employee called in on a scheduled day off shall receive a minimum of four (4) <br />hours' pay at the overtime rate of pay. lf over four (4) hours work the employee shall receive <br />actual time worked. <br />Meeting and Scheduled Events: Employees returning to work or coming in for a scheduled <br />evenVtraining/meeting shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours pay at the applicable <br />overtime rate of pay. lf it is over two (2) hours the employee shall receive actual time. <br />11.10 Compensatory Time Off: ln lieu of payment for overtime, an employee may request compensatory <br />time off. Compensatory time may be carried fonrvard from work period to work period to a maximum <br />accumulation of sixty (60) hours. lf it is necessary for the Sheriff to deny compensatory time off at <br />the requested time, due to manpower or other limitations, the employee shall be entitled to payment <br />for the compensatory time. Hours in excess of forty (40) per week as defined in Section 11.9, shall <br />be compensated for at time and one-half (1 %) in compensatory time off with the approval of the <br />Sheriff. <br />B <br />c <br />D <br />E. <br />11.11 <br />11.12 <br />11.13 <br />11.14 <br />Court Time: Any employee who is required to appear and/or testify in court in person as a result of <br />circumstances which occurred in the line of duty and must do so during time other than their regular <br />duty hours, shall be paid as set forth in Section 11.9 herein while in or awaiting court with a minimum <br />of four (4) hours' paid time. lf less than four (4) hours is necessary to perform the court-related <br />function, the employee shall not be required to perform other work to fulfill the remaining time, to <br />receive the minimum four (4) hours of pay. lf the required court participation is telephonic or remote <br />and conducted from the employee's home or other location at the employee's discretion, the <br />employee shall be paid a minimum of two (2) hours or the time required by the court, whichever is <br />greater. lf the employee has not followed the court required verification procedures set forth by the <br />Sheriff, said employee will relinquish the employee's right to the time worked. Nothing in this section <br />is construed to require pay for time spent in personal suits, either civil or criminal. <br />When an employee drives to and from any Employer-required author:ized and assigned school or <br />training, travel time shall be considered hours worked in accordance with federal and state law. <br />The term "bona fide emergency" includes a lifethreatening situation; civil disorder; natural disaster; <br />sudden unexpected happening; unforeseen occurrence or condition; complication of circumstances; <br />sudden or unexpected occasion for action; or pressing necessity. <br />Voluntary Overtime: The Sheriff will notify eligible employees of anticipated available overtime. <br />Assignment of such overtime will then be made by the Sheriff or designee. Assignment of overtime <br />shall be made upon the employee's preference and seniority, except in cases of emergency, or <br />when there is less than twentv-four (241 hours' notice. For purposes of voluntary overtime, seniority <br />is defined as years of continuous service within the Line division of the Kittitas County Sheriff's <br />11
