KITTITAS COUNTY <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES — BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />2024 STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: December 23, 2024 <br />TOPIC: Facet NW: Critical Areas <br />ACTION REQUESTED: None <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Chad Bala, CDS Director <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />None <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />Resolution 2024-093 authorized the Community Development Services Director contract authority over <br />task orders for immediate need in planning support services. As part of the ongoing negotiations with the <br />Yakama Nation and additional Kittitas County Critical Area Code discussions with Facet NW (Critical <br />Areas Consultant) CDS will be moving forward with this task order to gather real data regarding GIS & <br />Stream Buffer information and conduct an analysis pursuant to Best Available Science (BAS). <br />This will be supportive information that will be utilized as part of our periodic review of the Critical <br />Areas Code. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Periodic Update requires an additional review of the Critical Areas Code, and this information will <br />be a supportive analysis to the Critical Areas Code update. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />None <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br />None <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />None <br />
